How long does it take for my bikini to be made?
Once you have placed your order we begin the process of hand making your order from scratch to the colour, style and size of your request. For this reason please allow for 7-10 working days for your order to be handmade.
What fabric is used to make my bikini?
SÁLTI Swimwear only makes use of the highest quality fabrics all of which are locally sourced from Cape Town, South Africa. All of our bikini’s fit seamlessly and feel like a second skin allowing for free and comfortable movement. The normal colour and print fabrics are made from 80% Nylon and 20% Spandex. The recycled fabric range is made from 82% Recycled Poly 18% Spandex using recycled plastic bottles collected from the ocean and beaches. Please note that fabric colours may differ slightly from the website images to what it looks like in real life.
Can I change my order once I have placed it?
Your order may only be changed or canceled within one hour after it has been placed as after that we begin the process of making your order from scratch by cutting and sewing it to your specific size, style and colour choices and thereafter can not be changed. Please make sure you are happy with your order before placing it and make use of our size guides and feel free to ask us any questions you might have using the email address tegan@saltiswimwear.co.za
Will my white bikini be see through?
Even though we take extra precautions and double line our lighter colours there is a very slight chance they might still appear see through and the padding may slightly be seen through the fabric. Our padding is all removable and may be taken out if this problem does arsise. If you are concerned about this, please rather order a darker colour.
What size should I order?
Please refer to our general size charts in order to fit your perfect fit. If you are inbetween sizes we recommend that you size up. Please feel free to email us or DM us for help if you are unsure and we will help you find your perfect size.

When will I receive my order?
Once your order has been cut, sewn and packaged you will receive a message shortly after dispatch to let you know your order is on it’s way, along with this message you will also receive a tracking number! Please allow for 1 to 3 business days for your order to arrive once it has been shipped.
Where do you deliver to?
We deliver to anywhere in South Africa. We can ship internationally too but the shipping costs will then be more expensive. Please send us an email to enquire about international shipping using the email address tegan@saltiswimwear.co.za
How do I take care of my bikini?
Rinse your bikini as soon as possible in cool water after each time you wear it. If you have time, allow the bikini to soak in cool water for 30 minutes, which is even better for the fabric. Soaking will remove most of the chemicals, salt, sand, and body oil that can damage the fabric. Plain water doesn’t remove all of the chlorine or salt. Refill the sink with cool water, and add 1 teaspoon or less of a gentle liquid laundry detergent. If you’re in a pinch, use just a dab of shampoo to wash your bikini, but skip any combination products that contain conditioner. Turn your swimsuit inside out, and submerge it in the solution. Swish for several minutes, and then rinse well. Remove the bathing suit from the
water, and then gently squeeze the water out of the fabric. Don’t wring the bikini as it can cause damage. Then air dry your bikini, spread your bikini flat to dry in a spot out of direct sunlight. UV rays from the sun can both fade and break down the fibers in your suit. Once the bikini is dry, don’t hang it up because it’ll stretch out the fibers. Instead, store the bikini flat when it’s completely dry; any moisture may result in the growth of mildew. If you’re putting it away for the season, store the bikini in the SÁLTI fabric garment bag it came in. Skip the plastic bags, which can also provide a breeding ground for mildew and bacteria.
Will I be able to exchange or return my order?
As our bikinis are all made to order to your specific size, colour and style we do not offer any returns or exchanges. For this reason please ensure that you have referred to our size guides and have chosen the correct size, colour and style you are wanting. Feel free to ask us any questions you may have on sizing or anything else at tegan@saltiswimwear.co.za so that we can advise you on the correct size prior to ordering.
